Scalleycat! Reno plays host to 24 hour bike scavenger hunt!
If the buzz and rumors are true, a LOT of west’s best bike messengers and cyclo’s are headed to Reno to compete in the first (hopefully of many to come) Champion of Scalleycat 24 hour scavenger hunt. Tim Healion was telling me tonight over some cherry pie at Mel’s Diner that Doug has put together a scavenger book just shy of biblical proportions. Apparently there’s over 40 teams pre-registered. This is HUGE!
I really hope this gets video’d and photo’d up real well ’cause I’m unfortunately going to miss most of it being it’s the last day of ski team Saturday and the US Freeskiing Championships are at Kirkwood this weekend. Good luck Noah, Craig and Glenn!
So I’ll say it again: Reno will become one of the greatest hubs of cycling culture in the US, if not the galaxy. This is another example of “downtown Reno core adventure culture”. Kayakers and Scalleycat’s. Can we expect a biking and kayaking mashup during the Reno River Festival?! Robert Payne and I just may have to team up on that…
