Twitter for marketing…some of us like it…some don’t.

I heard about this article written by Ann Handley of Marketing Profs (she’s awesome, BTW) regarding Twitter and some Twitter-bashing going on. She counters with some excellent points. With irony, heard about this through the tweets of some fellow Twitters

Good link, Dave. My favorite part is in the beginning where the guy who hates Twitter says it’s useless, but somehow enough people think it’s viable that it keeps going. Brilliant.

I enjoyed this article quite a bit. I’ve used Twitter, but the ideas related to marketing seemed really relevant. I think companies like Amazon that use Twitter may find more success and loyalty from the “savvy” web 2.0 crowd.

@ryan Thanks. It comes down to perspective. That Mark Simon guy has points, but he just sees the world differently. He’s the kind of guy that’s cruising the ski slopes in a one-piece Bogner on snollerblades and happy as a clam. Probably drives a Mini Cooper too. Why…I don;t know. We just see the world differently!
@rob it’s definitely a vertical. lot’s of web savvy folks with streaks of narcissism. not a broadcast medium by any means.

I bet if he did Twitter, he’d say something like this……….”I just passed a Baskin & Robbins…..didn’t stop……lactose intolerant…..”
