Why are they charging for that? Isn’t it a marketing venue for them? Isn’t their goal from this to increase deal flow?

Just a thought.

Full disclosure - We consult for the Sacramento Angels which also charges fees for some things, and Golden Capital which does as well. Doesn’t mean I agree with the concept.

Having attended the event and willingly paid the fee, I consider the materials covered and the insights shared with those seeking capital that day, invaluable.

Too many angel groups have the entrepreneur jump through hoops with no idea of what is being asked of them. Adivsors cost money, professional business plans and PPMs cost money. Most business owners have bootstrapped their way to the level they have achieved with their early stage company and those fees put the funds out of reach.

By creating this type of event, for a small fee, you can gain a wealth of knowledge on how to pitch, what to pitch, where the focus should be and receive the encouragement, through proven results, that you should not give up.

The speakers in the room were professional and truly provided great value with the presentation. Because of their presentation I was able to modify my information, focus on the important points and have received, since Janaury 25th, more than 5 major inquiries, one or two of which I feel are true potential investment opportunities. Without that event I would have continued to spin my wheels working on this process.

Thank you Mike Ballard and thank you Andrew Gold for sharing and inspiring.
