The 8th Annual Silver & Gold Venture Capital Conference will bring in a substantial base of actively investing angels and venture capitalists, including many Silicon Valley investors and presenting companies. Lots of cool events coming up in the next few days… Come rain (snow) or shine, Earth Day will be celebrated at Idlewild Park this Sunday, April 20 from 10 - 5. Reno Bike Project will be running the bike valet in front of the California Building, so be 
sure to stop in and say hey. (Also mark your calendar for the “Bike To Work Day” breakfast on Friday, May 16 – give Noah a call at (775) 622-6954 if you have questions.) On Monday the 21st Reno Bike Project holds its regular meeting at Susan’s office at 6. There’s a lot of tech talent to be found right here in Northern Nevada colleges. If you’re interested in getting a firsthand look at some of the innovative ideas coming out of our universities, plan to attend Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology’s (NCET) Governor’s Cup oral presentations April 21 & 22. The event is free and open to the public. Finalists in this statewide business plan competition are vying for big bucks – more than $110K. This is a good way to support Nevada’s best and brightest and check out what might be on horizon on the sustainable/renewable energy & technology fronts.

Holland Project is a very cool all-ages art and music initiative made by and for the young people in Reno and beyond. Kids are introduced to all kinds of diverse music and art, workshops and community service work. In my opinion, Holland picks up on the “real world” where the school district has to leave off.
Volunteers and donors make it all possible… check out Holland’s event calendar for April and May and support what you can.
